Rooted in a legacy of optical expertise, Robert’s journey began in the charming landscapes of Georgia. His summers spent alongside his Aunt Virginia and Uncle Bill in sunny Florida ignited a spark that eventually blossomed into a profound love for opticianry. Those youthful days tinkering around his uncle’s private practice, absorbing the art and science of eyewear, laid the foundation for Robert’s commitment to the world of optics. His dedication culminated in a degree in opticianry from Hillsborough Community College in 1985, marking the formal initiation of his lifelong journey in perfecting visual clarity.

Cara’s story is one of synergy and shared growth. As a part of a proud US military family, Cara traveled the globe as a young child. She and her family settled in the sunshine state of Florida in the 1980’s. She embarked on her optical journey in 2010 when she joined the Vision Center at Walmart. Fate brought her under Robert’s tutelage, as he became not only her mentor but also the key to unlocking her passion for opticianry. Their partnership transcended the realm of education, culminating in a beautiful union as life partners in 2012.
